Ancillary Services: Commercial Inspection Report Writing
This workshop presented in conjunction with the Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association (CCPIA), will teach you how to select or build a commercial report template, and develop defect ratings, content and terminology. We’ll also discuss special considerations and photo selections. A full commercial inspection report using Spectora software will be illustrated. We’ll conclude with a PowerPoint presentation and a Q&A.

Advanced Inspections: EIFS, Stucco, MSV & Water Intrusion
In this class, the inspector will learn about the similarities and differences between EIFS, stucco, and adhered manufactured stone veneer. By the end, the inspector should be able to accurately identify whether the wall cladding is a type of EIFS or stucco. We'll also go over the common locations to look for installation errors, and illustrate the damage those errors may cause.

Ancillary Services: Introduction to Sewer Scopes
Learn how to make more profit per inspection by adding this ancillary inspection. This class is designed to show home inspectors the profit potential of adding sewer scoping to their ancillary services. It will give them a general idea of what a sewer scope inspection consists of, what the inspector should look for, and a basic understanding of sewer line materials and the common defects associated with different types of sewer lines. We’ll also discuss what to look for in a camera system.

Ancillary Services: Chasing Water Using Thermal Imaging
Water is one of the most destructive elements and is often difficult to identify when it comes to locating the root cause in a house. United Infrared has been chasing water for years using thermal imaging, which is a very effective technology for mapping moisture paths in a completely non-destructive manner. Thermal imaging provides immediate visual results, which can often expose the actual source. The goal of this presentation is to help inspectors discover ways that infrared technology can be used to detect moisture intrusion in homes.

Advanced Inspections: Hurricanes Destroy, But Only If We Let Them
“Hurricanes Destroy, But Only If We Let Them" will feature photos taken the morning after Hurricane Michael in Mexico Beach, Florida. Discussion will center on different types of structural failures and how better inspection procedures could have saved numerous types of structures. Additional training will be presented regarding how to categorize existing structures, how to evaluate cracks in structures, how to properly read product approvals, and other items to ensure hurricane resilience.

Business & Marketing: Introduction to QuickBooks® for Inspectors
This class is designed to give inspectors everything they need to begin using QuickBooks® as a tool to monitor the income and expenses for their home inspection business.
We’ll cover initial company settings and best practices, establish a chart of accounts, add items and services, create invoices, process billing, add vendors, write checks, collect and post check and credit card payments, and reconcile the accounts each month. We’ll briefly discuss some basic reports you should be familiar with. We will also cover best practices for integrating QuickBooks® with ISN. Although this class will specifically cover QB Online, its principles and sample chart of accounts can be applied to the desktop version of QuickBooks®. A sample chart of accounts for home inspectors will be provided. QB Online Essentials will be used for teaching purposes. |

Ancillary Services: Using Thermal Imaging for Energy Audits
This workshop will present information on the optimal conditions needed to effectively use an infrared camera to evaluate the building envelope to determine insulation performance. We will also demonstrate how an infrared camera can be used to identify air infiltration and exfiltration points. We’ll also discuss minimum camera requirements, and show examples of why some infrared cameras are not suited for use for energy audits or home inspections.
